Company Overview

Connected Energy is a global leader in transforming electric vehicle batteries into energy storage technology. Founded in 2010, the company addresses two converging challenges: extending the useful life of EV batteries and providing storage for intermittent renewable energy systems.

The E-STOR system is operating commercially across the UK and Europe, helping organisations maximise renewable energy use, overcome capacity constraints, and support the transition to net zero. The company is now developing its own portfolio of grid-scale energy storage projects across the UK and France, built to absorb the growing availability of second-life batteries.

Strategic focus

  • Addressing energy security, circular economy, and storage deployment simultaneously
  • Second-life batteries accelerating Clean Power 2030 grid flexibility
  • Reducing dependence on international battery supply chains, retaining critical minerals in the UK
  • Proving commercial viability of second-life batteries at utility scale — a UK first
