Government, Grants & Consortia Workshop

Date: September 2026
Venue: Advanced Propulsion Centre, Coventry
Format: Government-led briefings, workshops, and one-to-one matchmaking

Description

This event delivers Battery Britain’s Government and Consortia service.

The industry told us clearly in 2025 that government support exists, but many companies:

  • Don’t know what they qualify for
  • Don’t know when to engage
  • Don’t understand how support fits across their lifecycle

This workshop is designed to change that.

Confirmed contributors include

  • Innovate UK – grants and support pathways
  • Faraday Institution – research and innovation alignment
  • National Wealth Fund – project-to-production funding support
  • Advanced Propulsion Centre – industrial strategy and scale
  • Investor perspective – how to leverage government support to crowd in private capital
  • Grant writing support (sponsor)

How it works

  • Initial briefings from each organisation
  • Pre-arranged one-to-one sessions to discuss individual projects
  • A joined-up, end-to-end support plan for each participating company

Result

Every UK battery supply chain project — at any stage — leaves with a clear understanding of:

  • What support they can access
  • When to access it
  • How to sequence funding from inception to commercial production

At the same time, government gains visibility of industry needs and can plan support more effectively.

Who should attend

Any organisation developing a UK-based battery project that requires funding or government support.
